Dr. Mike Annett is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean in the School of Business at MacEwan University, leading student-focused initiatives, curriculum development, and accreditation. He holds a PhD in Business (HRM & IR) from the University of Alberta and is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR). His roles include managing academic programs and fostering partnerships with business leaders, professional associations, and chambers of commerce to promote socially responsible management practices.
Dr. Annett specializes in teaching Human Resources Management, Employee Relations, and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). He has developed multiple courses (e.g., HRTM 212, ORGA 335) and pioneered online course design. His research focuses on workplace inclusion, disability management, and immersive learning technologies. He is an associate editor for The CASE Journal and has published in journals like Journal of Applied Psychology and Routledge.
Dr. Annett has received awards for teaching excellence (2024), case study review (2024), and leadership in inclusion (2022). His grants include studies on employer-employee skill gaps (2023), case pedagogy (2023), and diversity practices in Alberta (2018). He actively contributes to professional bodies like CPHR Alberta and the North American Case Research Association.
