Miho Taka is an Assistant Professor at Coventry University's Research Centre for Peace and Security. She holds a Doctorate in International Relations and Sociology from Coventry University, alongside an MA in Third World Studies, a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Higher Education, an Education Degree from Osaka Kyoiku University, and an MA in Public Administration from the University of Warwick. Additionally, she serves as an External Examiner at the University of Birmingham from 2023–2027.
Her research focuses on the intersection of socio-economic/environmental issues and conflict, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa. Key interests include resource-related conflict dynamics, ethical natural resource governance, corporate social responsibility, and the role of education in peacebuilding. She emphasizes multi-stakeholder approaches for private-sector contributions to conflict-affected regions.
Recent projects include capacity-building initiatives for Early Career Researchers in Ethiopia, evidence collection on peace education impacts in Rwanda, and a British Council-funded project on peace education in Sudan and Ethiopia. These projects highlight her commitment to fostering academic writing, publishing, and peace-focused education in conflict zones.
Miho has presented widely on topics such as education’s role in Rwanda’s post-conflict recovery, mining governance in the Great Lakes Region, and transitional justice in Rwanda. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and peace, justice, and strong institutions.
