معرفی
Miguel Stadecker is a Professor of Immunology at Tufts University School of Medicine. His research focuses on understanding the immunopathology of schistosomiasis, particularly the role of CD4 T cell subpopulations and Th17 cells in disease severity. He holds academic appointments across multiple departments, including Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Dermatology, and Integrative Physiology and Pathobiology.
Education:
- Doctor of Philosophy (Immunology), Tufts University, 1975
- Doctor of Medicine, University of Buenos Aires, 1967
- Bachelor of Science, National University of Central Buenos Aires, 1961
Research Interests: Stadecker’s lab investigates how dendritic cell C-type lectin receptors sense parasite eggs to trigger proinflammatory cytokines, driving pathogenic Th17 cell responses. Key areas include host-parasite interactions, innate immunity, and granulomatous inflammation in helminth infections.
Grants & Awards: He has secured funding from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the World Health Organization, focusing on schistosome immunology and parasite antigens.
Teaching: He teaches courses on inflammation, chronic infectious diseases, and immunology at Tufts University School of Medicine.
Professional Activities: He serves on the editorial board of Seminars in Immunopathology and is a member of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and the American Association of Immunologists.
