Dr. Mick Rose is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Southern Cross University, based in Lismore. His research focuses on plant-microorganism-environment interactions, pesticide impacts on soil biology, and agronomic practices for sustainable agriculture. He holds a PhD from the University of Sydney (2006) and has extensive international research experience in Vietnam, Japan, and Australia.
Education: Doctor of Philosophy (The University of Sydney, 2002–2006). Research highlights include work on biofertilisers, abiotic stress tolerance in rice, and microbial indicators of soil health. Professional service includes roles at the NSW Department of Primary Industries (2014–2023).
He received the 2024 Outstanding Teaching Award from Southern Cross University. Current affiliations include the Faculty of Science and Engineering and potential collaborations with Southern Cross University's Environmental Analysis Laboratory.
