Dr. Michinari HAMAGUCHI is the President of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and holds leadership roles as Chairperson of the Japanese National Commission for UNESCO and the Council for Science and Technology under MEXT. Previously, he served as President of Nagoya University from 2009 to 2015. He earned a PhD in Medicine from Nagoya University and began his career as a Research Associate at its School of Medicine in 1980. His research interests span medicine, science policy, and academic leadership, with notable international collaborations.
