Michelle Kennedy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) at McGill University’s Faculty of Education. She specializes in Indigenous Education, Pedagogy & Leadership, and Diversity/Identity studies. Her academic work integrates Anishinaabe cultural perspectives with curriculum development and digital culture.
Education:
- Bachelor of Arts in Native Studies, Laurentian University
- Bachelor of Education in Junior-Intermediate Native Studies, Laurentian University
- Master of Health in Indigenous Relations, Laurentian University
- PhD Candidate in Cultural Studies at Queen’s University (research focuses on Anishinaabe art creation and curation).
Research interests include Indigenous leadership, violence prevention in Indigenous communities, and digital identities. Her 2023 publication explores virtual identities through an Indigenous lens. She does not currently supervise graduate students.
