Education:
- PhD from Virginia Tech

Dr. Hong's research centers on workplace authenticity, examining how self-expression aligned with true identity impacts organizational behavior. Her groundbreaking work demonstrates that emotional labor (emotional inauthenticity) reduces employee well-being and increases unethical conduct. Contrary to conventional wisdom, she discovered authentic leadership yields optimal team outcomes at moderate levels—not maximum—highlighting humility's critical role in effective leadership. Her research synthesizes Behavioral Ethics, Authenticity in the Workplace, and Organizational Justice frameworks to redefine ethical leadership paradigms.
Dr. Hong actively contributes to academic discourse as a reviewer for Group & Organization Management, Business Ethics Quarterly, and Journal of Management and Organizations, while presenting at premier conferences including the Academy of Management and Society for Business Ethics.
Her teaching portfolio spans Organizational Behavior, International Business, International Management, Principle of Management, and Contemporary Leadership, integrating cutting-edge research into classroom practice.
