Professor Michelle Foster is the Dean of the Melbourne Law School at the University of Melbourne. She holds the William Hearn Professorship of Law and previously directed the Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness, the world’s first university-based interdisciplinary centre addressing statelessness. Her research focuses on refugee law, human rights, and socio-economic rights, with significant policy impact globally. She has been recognized as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences and Law, and awarded the Woodward Medal (2009) and Barbara Falk Award (2013) for her contributions to scholarship and teaching.
