Micheline Ishay is a Professor of Human Rights and International Studies and Director of the Center for Middle East Studies at the University of Denver's Korbel School of International Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and International Studies from Rutgers University. Her research focuses on human rights, political theory, the Middle East, and globalization. She has held visiting positions at institutions including Hebrew University, Tel Aviv University, and Sciences Politiques, Paris.
Key roles include founding director of Korbel's International Human Rights Program and recipient of the 2022 UCCHRE Human Rights in Higher Education Award. Her work bridges interdisciplinary approaches, addressing contemporary challenges such as populism, authoritarianism, and regional conflicts. She has authored influential books like *The History of Human Rights* and *The Human Rights Reader*, widely translated and used in academic curricula.
