Michele Solimena

Michele Solimena is a Professor of Molecular Diabetology at Dresden University of Technology and Director of the Institute for Pancreatic Islet Research (IPI) at Helmholtz Munich. He also serves as Speaker of the Paul Langerhans Institute Dresden (PLID) within the German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD). A cell biologist by training, his research focuses on insulin secretory granule dynamics in pancreatic beta cells, with a strong emphasis on diabetes pathogenesis.
