Anthony Gavalas

Professor Anthony Gavalas is a faculty member at Technische Universität Dresden, affiliated with the DZD-Paul-Langerhans-Institut Dresden (PLID) at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus. His research focuses on diabetes mechanisms, stem cell biology, and regenerative medicine, with emphasis on pancreatic beta cell development and transplantation therapies.

Research Focus: His work spans developmental programming of pancreatic cells, metabolic disease mechanisms, and optimization of stem cell-derived islet clusters for clinical applications. Key areas include:
