Michael Twigg is an Associate Professor at the University of East Anglia's School of Chemistry, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, with a part-time appointment since June 2022. He also serves as Head of Research Design and Evaluation at NHS Norfolk and Waveney ICB, focusing on integrating healthcare professionals in medicines management.

His research explores the evolving role of community pharmacists in managing long-term conditions (diabetes, respiratory diseases) and optimizing primary care integration through post-discharge medication review processes. His 46 research outputs span community pharmacy models, medication adherence tools for bipolar disorder, deprescribing frameworks, and pregnancy pharmacology. Key projects include the Community Pharmacy Futures evaluation and Discharge Medicine Service analysis.
