Michael Tatterton is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Bradford's School of Nursing & Healthcare Leadership within the Faculty of Health Studies. He holds dual roles as Chief Nurse at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice in Sheffield and Specialist Advisor to the Care Quality Commission (CQC). His professional affiliations include editorial roles with Nursing Children and Young People and Evidence-Based Nursing, and Board membership with the International Children's Palliative Care Network (ICPCN). Dr. Tatterton's clinical expertise spans children’s palliative care, advanced nursing practice, and nursing leadership, supported by a PhD in palliative care and MSc in Public Health.
His research focuses on children's palliative care experiences, family-centred care, grief, and interdisciplinary approaches. Notable studies include dignity therapy for terminally ill youth, community-based hospice care, and perinatal palliative care for minority families. He has received major awards including the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Award and ABPN Fellowship.
