Claire Bethell

Claire Bethell is a Clinical Assistant Professor in nursing at the University of Bradford, affiliated with the School of Nursing & Healthcare Leadership within the Faculty of Health Studies. She is a registered children's nurse, non-medical prescriber, and advanced paediatric clinical practitioner. Her clinical experience spans acute medical wards, paediatric emergency medicine, and children's palliative care.

Education includes a Bachelor's degree from the University of Bradford (2009) and a Master of Medical Science in Advanced Paediatric Practice from the University of Sheffield (2020). She maintains clinical credibility through her role as an advanced clinical practitioner at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Research interests focus on holistic care for children with acute/chronic conditions, emergency nursing, and paediatric clinical decision-making. Teaching areas include advanced clinical practice, emergency medicine, and children’s palliative care. She contributes to the HSJ award-winning ACE team and holds dual academic/clinical roles.
