Michael T. Veeman is an Associate Professor in the Division of Biology at Kansas State University, with a dual affiliation at the Johnson Cancer Research Center. His research focuses on understanding the cellular mechanisms of morphogenesis using the ascidian Ciona as a model organism.
Dr. Veeman received his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Washington in 2003. His research interests center on chordate development, particularly examining how controlled cell behaviors during embryonic development relate to cancer processes when misregulated.
His laboratory employs a multidisciplinary approach combining advanced imaging techniques, functional genomics, developmental biology, and computational image analysis to study morphogenesis.
