Mick Yoder is an Assistant Professor of Biology at the University of Central Arkansas investigating cellular mechanisms of embryonic development. His research examines how regulated cell-cell adhesion drives tissue morphogenesis, with implications for understanding birth defects and cancer metastasis.
Research focuses on molecular regulation of cell adhesion complexes during embryonic tissue formation. Current projects analyze cell sorting mechanisms, tissue boundary formation, and signaling pathways governing morphogenetic processes using Xenopus model systems.
Publications concentrate on adhesion molecules (protocadherins, cadherins) and GTP-binding proteins regulating embryonic patterning. Recent work identifies novel protein complexes controlling cell fate decisions during notochord development.
