Michael Smith serves as a full-time Instructor of Criminal Justice at Keuka College, leveraging 48 years of combined military, law enforcement, and academic experience. His career spans active duty as a U.S. Air Force security policeman during the Vietnam and Cold War eras, a distinguished law enforcement trajectory culminating in Chief rank, and over 18 years of prior adjunct teaching before securing his current position.

Prof. Smith's professional focus centers on advancing law enforcement professionalism through ethical commitment, accountability, and organizational excellence amid rapidly evolving societal landscapes. His expertise addresses critical contemporary challenges:
