Dr. Michael Schmita is a Researcher at the Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History. His work focuses on Medieval and Early Modern Art History in Italy, particularly the topography and architecture of Roman churches, including projects like Santa Maria in Cosmedin – Architecture, Equipment, History and the ongoing Corpus Cosmatorum (1050–1300, since 2009).
