Michael S. Barr is the Roy F. and Jean Humphrey Proffitt Professor of Law at the University of Michigan Law School and Frank Murphy Collegiate Professor of Public Policy at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. He is currently on leave from the University, serving with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. His academic roles include faculty director of the U-M Center on Finance, Law & Policy. He has held prominent government positions, including Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions at the U.S. Treasury Department and key roles in shaping the Dodd-Frank Act.

Research Interests: Barr focuses on financial regulation, international finance, and inclusive financial systems.
