Dr. Michael Radzieta is a Research Fellow at Western Sydney University's School of Medicine, holding both a PhD and Bachelor of Medical Science from the same institution. His current affiliations include the ACADI research alliance focused on diabetes foot ulcers and infection genomics.
His research bridges microbiology, immunology, and clinical applications with focus areas including:
- Biofilm formation and antimicrobial resistance mechanisms
- Diabetes-related foot ulcer pathogenesis and treatment
- Hidradenitis suppurativa pathophysiology
- Novel antimicrobial agents and wound dressings
- Probiotic interventions in neurodegenerative conditions
Recent publications (2023-2025) demonstrate strong emphasis on dermatological microbiology, with studies on mast cell regulation, fibroblast dynamics, biofilm behavior in chronic wounds, and probiotic applications. Research methodologies prominently feature both in vitro and in vivo validation approaches.
Dr. Radzieta contributes to the MRFF-MTPConnect funded ACADI project (2022-2026) investigating genomic aspects of diabetes foot infections through multi-institutional collaboration.
