Professor Håvard Jenssen is affiliated with Roskilde University's Faculty of Science and Environment, Department of Molecular and Medical Biology, and the Centre for Frustrated Molecular Interactions. His research focuses on antimicrobial peptides and peptoids, targeting antibiotic-resistant pathogens, wound healing, and diabetes-related complications. Recent studies emphasize peptoid-based nanomaterials, surface immobilization strategies, and novel drug delivery systems.
Research interests include:
- Design and mechanism of antimicrobial agents (peptides/peptoids)
- Biofilm inhibition and bacterial pathogen interactions
- Wound healing biomarkers and diabetic foot ulcers
- Nanoparticle formulations for drug delivery
Publications highlight advancements in antimicrobial nanomaterials, peptoid activity against superbugs, and interdisciplinary approaches combining materials science with microbiology. Collaborations span global institutions, addressing challenges in infectious diseases, ocular infections, and parasitic infections like leishmaniasis.
Labs/Teams: Active within the Centre for Frustrated Molecular Interactions, focusing on molecular design and biological interfaces.
