Michael Oatman

Michael Oatman is Associate Professor and Artist-in-Residence at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's School of Architecture, where he has taught for 25 years. His artistic practice spans installation, collage, video, and curatorial projects that examine intersections of art, science, and technology. Oatman creates large-scale installations exploring material culture, archives, and technological history.

His work has been exhibited internationally, with pieces in collections including Museum of Modern Art, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and Tang Museum. Notable projects include 'All Utopias Fell' at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art and collaborations with NASA archives. Oatman has developed interdisciplinary courses integrating art with technology and design.
