Michael O. Hottiger

Prof. Michael O. Hottiger is a full professor of Molecular Biology and the acting director of the Department of Molecular Mechanisms of Disease at the University of Zurich. He holds a dual degree in Veterinary Medicine and Molecular Biology from the University of Zurich and has held positions at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (USA) before joining the University of Zurich in 1998. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of inflammation, particularly the role of ADP-ribosylation in regulating immune responses and cellular stress. He co-founded DUALSYSTEMS Biotech AG and has received notable awards, including the Dr. Ernst Th. Jucker Award (2001) and the PHOENIX Pharmazie-Wissenschaftspreis (2004).
