معرفی
Karla Feijs is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, RWTH Aachen University, leading the Laboratory of mono(ADP-ribosyl)ation. She focuses on post-translational protein modifications, particularly ADP-ribosylation, studying its roles in disease mechanisms and cellular processes.
- Current PhD students supervised: Nonso Josephat Ikenga, Ganga Mohan, Victoria Ngangbam, Jonas Siefert
- Key research areas: Protein modifications, Enzymology, Cancer biology, Innate immunity
Her work explores the enzymes PARPs/ARTDs and macrodomain-containing hydrolases, analyzing their functions in in vitro and in vivo systems to uncover ADP-ribosylation's role in disease progression. Recent publications investigate RNA/DNA ADP-ribosylation and interactome analysis of MACROD proteins.
Collaborations with Dr. Roko Žaja and others have advanced understanding of ADP-ribosylation in immunity and metabolism. The lab also trains undergraduate and graduate students through internships, fostering expertise in molecular cell biology.
