Michael Morgan

Michael Morgan is a Senior Lecturer at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), serving as Head of Voice & Speech and Theater & Community. He holds a PhD from UCSB, an BFA from NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, and an MS in Oriental Medicine from SAMRA University. His teaching spans institutions like Penn State University, Yale University, and the Royal Conservatoire in Liège.

Morgan's research focuses on applied theater initiatives, such as the Odyssey Project for incarcerated youth and the Going Home Project with homeless youth. He has performed at major theaters including the Mark Taper Forum and Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and his coaching includes roles at Shakespeare and Company and the Cleveland Playhouse.

His publications explore intersections of voice training with Oriental medicine and theater pedagogy, including works in Rant Theater Journal and the Cambridge Encyclopedia of Stage Actors and Acting. He is a certified Linklater Teacher, Fitzmaurice Candidate, and Yoga Alliance-registered instructor.
