Professor Michael Mol is a full-time Chair in Strategic and International Management at Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham, and concurrently a Professor in the Department of Strategy and Innovation at Copenhagen Business School. He holds a PhD from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and has previously held academic positions at Warwick, London, and Henley Business Schools. He is a Dutch national with extensive international academic experience across six countries.

His work integrates theoretical rigor with practical relevance, often bridging disciplines such as strategic management, international business, and supply chain management.

He has received national and international research grants and serves on the editorial boards of leading journals including California Management Review, Global Strategy Journal, and Journal of International Business Studies. He has advised firms and supranational institutions and is involved in executive education, including sharing leadership of the Executive MBA course in Strategic Management. He has also served as Head of Department at both Warwick and Copenhagen Business Schools.
