Professor Amon Chizema holds the position of Professor of International Business and Corporate Governance at Loughborough University, where he also serves as Director of Internationalisation. Previously, he was Professor of Corporate Governance and Strategy at the University of Birmingham (2015–2019) and has served as an Extraordinary Professor at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), University of Pretoria. His expertise spans comparative corporate governance, executive compensation, board dynamics, and strategic leadership.
He has led research groups, including the International Business, Strategy and Innovation Group at Loughborough (2011–2015) and served as Director of Research for the Department of Strategy and International Business at the University of Birmingham. His research appears in top-tier journals such as the Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management Studies, and Corporate Governance: An International Review.
Professor Chizema has advised supranational organizations like the African Union and African Development Bank, and has contributed to professional conferences via the Chartered Governance Institute and Westminster Business Forum. He currently serves on editorial boards for Journal of Management Studies, The Leadership Quarterly, and Corporate Governance: An International Review, and edits Insight articles for the Africa Journal of Management.
