Michael McGowan is a Professor of Philosophy at Florida SouthWestern State College, where he also teaches religion and humanities classes. His research and publications bridge philosophy, religion, and the arts, with a focus on interdisciplinary explorations of faith, ethics, and cultural narratives.

McGowan’s scholarly work includes editorship of Speaking Words of Wisdom: The Beatles and Religion (2023), co-editorship of David Foster Wallace and Religion: Essays on Faith and Fiction (2019), and authorship of The Bridge: Revelation and its Implications (2015). His writing appears in journals such as Journal of Religion and Film, Teaching Ethics, and the Blackwell Philosophy and Pop Culture series.
He has served on the Editorial Board of Teaching Ethics and teaches courses like PHI 2010 (Introduction to Philosophy), PHI 2600 (Ethics), REL 2300 (World Religions), and HUM 2020 (Introduction to Humanities).
