Michael Korybut is a Professor and Co-Director of the Center for International and Comparative Law at Saint Louis University School of Law. He specializes in business and commercial transactional law, teaching courses such as Advanced Commercial and Business Transactions, Bankruptcy, and International Sale of Goods. He also teaches in SLU's Madrid Summer Program and speaks Spanish and French. His research focuses on secured financing transactions, including Article 9 foreclosure sales and innovations in collateral markets.
Education: B.A., Claremont McKenna College (1985); J.D., Stanford Law School (1990). Prior to academia, he practiced corporate and lending law at Heller Ehrman and Gray Cary Ware & Friedenrich in California. His scholarship addresses legal frameworks for secured financing, including online auctions of repossessed goods and contractual liability during foreclosures.
Awards include the Thompson Coburn Award for Exceptional Faculty Scholarship and the Best Teacher of the Year Award (twice). His work bridges legal theory and practice, emphasizing modern challenges in commercial transactional law.
