Michael Kackman is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre at the University of Notre Dame, within the College of Arts and Letters. He serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies and focuses on the history and criticism of U.S. television, Cold War culture, and the intersection of media with nationhood and memory practices. His research explores how television shapes political and cultural identity through historical frameworks.
Education: Ph.D. and M.A. in Media and Cultural Studies from University of Wisconsin-Madison; B.F.A. in Filmmaking from Emerson College.
