Professor Michael Jennings is Deputy Director of the Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics at Griffith University, specializing in infectious diseases research with focus on glycoscience and vaccine development. His NHMRC-funded work investigates molecular interactions between pathogens and human hosts to develop diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
Key research areas:
- Glycan-mediated host-pathogen interactions
- Phase-variable bacterial glycosylation
- Glycoconjugate vaccine design
- Cancer glycomarkers
Leads projects on meningococcal pathogenesis and ovarian cancer biomarker discovery. Recipient of NHMRC Investigator Grant for glycointeraction research.
