معرفی
Kate Seib is a Professor and NHMRC Leadership Fellow at Griffith University's Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics, where she serves as Associate Director of Research. Her expertise spans molecular microbiology, vaccinology, and bacterial pathogenesis, with focus on Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Neisseria meningitidis.
Research interests include development of vaccines against antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea, mechanisms of bacterial virulence regulation, and glycobiology of host-pathogen interactions. Her team pioneered cross-protection studies using meningococcal vaccines against gonorrhea.
Publication analysis shows 60% focus on vaccinology, 25% on antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, and 15% on bacterial glycobiology. Recent work emphasizes clinical translation of vaccine candidates and public health strategies for STI control.
Honors include the Frank Fenner Award and NHMRC Leadership Fellowship. Leads multiple clinical trials investigating vaccine efficacy against gonorrhea transmission. Active in WHO STI Research Priority Setting Technical Advisory Group.
Current supervision includes doctoral projects on gonococcal vaccine targets, bacterial epigenetic regulation, and therapeutic development against mucosal pathogens.
