Michael J. Stamos, MD, is the Dean of the UC Irvine School of Medicine and a Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery. With over two decades of experience, he specializes in minimally invasive resections for colorectal cancers and disorders, including sphincter salvage operations for rectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. A board-certified surgeon, he is renowned for his leadership in national organizations such as the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, where he served as immediate past president.
