Vikram Reddy, MD, PhD, MBA, is an Associate Professor of Surgery (Colon and Rectal) and Chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Yale School of Medicine. He specializes in advanced minimally invasive colorectal surgeries, including laparoscopic and robotic techniques for cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and complex gastrointestinal conditions. His clinical expertise includes sphincter-preserving rectal cancer surgery, transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEMS), and corrective pouch procedures for failed ileal pouch-anal anastomosis.
Dr. Reddy’s academic training includes an MD and PhD from the Medical College of Georgia (2003), residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital (2008), and a fellowship at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (2009). He holds an MBA from Yale University (2021).
His research focuses on improving surgical outcomes, reducing postoperative complications like low anterior resection syndrome, and optimizing care for inflammatory bowel disease patients. He collaborates with multidisciplinary teams in programs such as the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program and Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) Program.
Awarded Connecticut Magazine’s Top Docs in 2015 and 2016, Dr. Reddy is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS). His clinical practice emphasizes patient-centered care and innovative surgical techniques to preserve quality of life.
