Michael J. Dale is a Professor of Law at Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad College of Law in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Since 1985, he has taught courses in family law, juvenile law, civil procedure, conflicts of laws, evidence, trial advocacy, judicial administration, and international litigation, with a focus on juvenile and children's law topics.

Prior to joining NSU, Dale practiced law in Phoenix, served as Executive Director of the Youth Law Center in San Francisco, and was Attorney in Charge of the Special Litigation Unit at the Juvenile Rights Division of the Legal Aid Society of New York. As a certified mediator in Florida, he has specialized in civil rights litigation for over 40 years and is admitted to practice in multiple states and federal courts.
His research focuses on juvenile law, child welfare, and civil rights litigation, with over 75 publications and two volumes of Representing the Child Client. His recent articles in Nova Law Review analyze trends in juvenile law, legal advocacy, and evidence procedures.

- Robert Oliphant Service to NITA Award (2009)
Dale actively contributes to the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), directing its Florida Deposition Program for 24 years and training professionals in child advocacy and litigation across the U.S.
