Michael Goodman

Michael Goodman is Professor of Public Policy and Executive Director of Economic Development & Community Partnerships at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. With a PhD and MA from Boston University, he is a leading analyst of the Massachusetts economy with 50+ publications on economic development, housing policy, and demographic trends.

Goodman has secured over $14 million in external funding for economic research initiatives, including recent awards from MA Division of Marine Fisheries and Vineyard Wind. As Co-Editor of MassBenchmarks, he tracks and analyzes statewide economic trends. His research informs regional development strategies throughout New England.

Goodman serves on multiple economic advisory boards including the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston's New England Public Policy Center and Massachusetts Economic Assistance Coordinating Council. He previously chaired the Department of Public Policy and served as Acting Provost at UMass Dartmouth.
