Michael Flexer is a Lecturer in English and Director of Liberal Arts at the University of Exeter. He serves as Co-Director for Engagement at the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health, where he previously held a publicly engaged research fellowship in the Wellcome-funded 'Waiting Times' project. His research focuses on semiotics, mental health (particularly psychosis), medical humanities, and interdisciplinary critical theories (Marxist, structuralist, and poststructuralist).
