Mr. Michael Edwards is a Senior Lecturer in Sport & Exercise Science at Middlesex University, affiliated with the London Sports Institute within the Faculty of Science and Technology. He serves as programme leader for the BSc Sport & Exercise Science (Strength & Conditioning) and leads numerous modules across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. His qualifications include a BSc in Sport, Health & Exercise Science, an MSc in Strength & Conditioning, and Qualified Teacher Status. He is also an Accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach through the UKSCA.
Teaching responsibilities span undergraduate modules such as Fundamentals of Strength and Conditioning and Applied Strength and Conditioning, as well as postgraduate courses like Performance Training and Corrective Exercise. His research focuses on optimizing athletic performance through evidence-based strength and conditioning practices, including studies on sprint mechanics, fencing-specific training, and movement dysfunction screening.
