Dr. Michael Craske is a Lecturer in English Literature at the School of English and Drama, Queen Mary University of London, joining as a permanent faculty member in 2023. His research focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to literature, particularly exploring neurodivergent perspectives and the intersection of music and Victorian poetry. He holds a PhD from Queen Mary, investigating the relationship between Swinburne’s poetry and Wagner’s operas. His teaching includes modules on Shakespeare, Victorian literature, and aestheticism, reflecting his expertise in 19th-century cultural studies.
Education: BA, MA, and PhD in English from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), with Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). His blog Verseandmusic.com examines Swinburne’s work and 19th-century literary-musical connections.
Research Interests: Victorian literature, interdisciplinary studies (especially music and literature), neurodivergent methodologies, and the aesthetic movements of the 19th century.
