Michael Coburn

Michael Coburn, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a Professor and Chair of the Scott Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine. He holds the Russell and Mary Hugh Scott Chair in Urology and serves as Urology Residency Program Director. Dr. Coburn earned his B.A. from Cornell University (1978), M.D. from New York University School of Medicine (1982), and completed internship, residency, and fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.

Research Interests include urologic trauma, genital and urethral reconstructive surgery, and male reproductive medicine. His work focuses on improving surgical techniques for genitourinary tract reconstruction and advancing educational frameworks in medical faculty development.

Clinical Interests encompass male infertility, reproductive disorders, microsurgery, and general urology.

Dr. Coburn is immediate past-Chair of the ACGME Residency Review Committee for Urology, Vice-Chair of Baylor’s Faculty Group Practice, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
