Larry I Lipshultz

Larry I. Lipshultz, M.D., is a Professor of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine and Chief of the Scott Department of Urology’s Division of Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. He holds the Lester and Sue Smith Chair in Reproductive Medicine and has been a faculty member at Baylor since 1976. Dr. Lipshultz trained at the University of Pennsylvania and Texas Medical School at Houston, where he was the first American Urological Association (AUA) research scholar. His clinical and research expertise spans male reproductive medicine, erectile dysfunction, low testosterone, Peyronie’s disease, and assisted reproductive technologies.

• Education: MD from University of Pennsylvania, B.S. from Franklin & Marshall College
• Research: Focus on microscopic sperm manipulation (IVF/ICSI), hormonal therapies, Peyronie’s disease, and fertility preservation
• Scientific Awards: Recipient of numerous honors including the Hugh Hampton Young Award and AAGUS Spence Award
• Leadership: Founded a fellowship program training over 120 physicians globally

His recent publications examine anogenital distance as a biomarker for reproductive health, testosterone therapy efficacy, and Peyronie’s disease treatment. Dr. Lipshultz has served on editorial boards of Journal of Urology, Fertility and Sterility, and International Journal of Impotence Research.
