Michael Beltran

Michael Beltran serves as Senior Lecturer and Director of the 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping Lab within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering. He also instructs in the CAD/CAM/CAE Lab and holds the Charles Deering McCormick Distinguished Lecturer title.

His educational background includes a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr. Beltran's research and professional focus centers on 3D Printing, Rapid Prototyping, and CAD/CAM/CAE systems, with significant contributions to Manufacturing Engineering education and community-based STEM outreach. He founded the Science and Engineering Exchange (SEE) program, which partners Northwestern students with Lincoln Elementary in Evanston to deliver hands-on lessons in engineering, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship.
