Michael Baxter is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of English at Belmont Abbey College. He teaches courses such as Western Civilization I and II, US History I and II, World War II History, and History of the American South. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Millsaps College, an MBA, and graduate work in Public History at UNC-Charlotte.
Research interests focus on historical education and public history, emphasizing the intersection of history with societal narratives. He is actively involved in archaeological work with the Southern Campaigns of the American Revolution and serves as a tour guide at Kings Mountain Military Park. Baxter is known for fostering student engagement with history through innovative teaching methods and community outreach.
