Michael Baron is the Myra and Van Williams Distinguished Professor of Music and Head of Keyboard Studies at Florida Gulf Coast University's Bower School of Music & the Arts. He also serves as Honorary Professor of Music at Yantai University and Hubei University in China. A renowned concert pianist, he performs over 40 annual concerts globally, encompassing solo, orchestral, and chamber music engagements. His repertoire spans Baroque to contemporary works, earning critical acclaim.
- Education: Doctorate in Piano Performance from The Ohio State University under Earl Wild, with additional studies in Italy under Orazio Frugoni.
Dr. Baron is a master educator, having conducted workshops and masterclasses worldwide. His students frequently win international competitions, leading to his induction into the Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame. He directs summer music festivals in Europe and serves as an International Steinway Artist.
His professional contributions extend to jury roles in global piano competitions and leadership in music education initiatives.
