German-Japanese Pianist Caterina Grewe serves as a Piano Professor at the Royal College of Music since April 2019, where she previously completed her studies in 2013. She also joined the piano faculty of the Purcell School in 2013 and maintains an active international performance schedule as a Steinway Artist.
Her educational background includes studies with Gabriele Wulff at the Hamburg Conservatory, Bernard Roberts at Chetham's School of Music, and completion of her training at the Royal College of Music under Yonty Solomon, Ian Jones, Vanessa Latarche, and Dmitri Alexeev.
Professor Grewe specializes in piano performance with particular expertise in classical repertoire interpretation. Her research interests focus on concert performance practices, technical mastery of piano literature, and the interpretative approaches to Romantic and contemporary compositions, with special attention to Schumann's works as evidenced by her debut CD release.
Throughout her career, she has maintained a strong emphasis on performance excellence, regularly giving masterclasses across Europe and Asia while serving on juries for international piano competitions.

Professor Grewe actively mentors young pianists through her teaching positions at both the Royal College of Music and the Purcell School. She has received notable recognition including the HRH Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Rose Bowl presented by HRH the Prince of Wales for her outstanding achievements. Her debut CD for KNS Classical featuring Schumann's works received favorable reviews from Gramophone Magazine, described as a 'fine disc' and 'playing full of character'.
As a performing artist, she maintains affiliations with Steinway & Sons as a Steinway Artist and has established professional relationships with major concert venues and orchestras worldwide, contributing significantly to the international piano performance community through both her teaching and concertizing activities.
