Michael Anderson is a NIHR Clinical Lecturer at the University of Manchester's Division of Population Health, Health Services Research & Primary Care, and a salaried General Practitioner in North Yorkshire. He holds a PhD in Health Policy and Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a distinction in a joint MSc in Health Policy, Planning & Financing from LSE and LSHTM. His research focuses on public-private healthcare interfaces, pharmaceutical policy (including antimicrobial resistance), workforce strategy, disinvestment in low-value care, and international healthcare systems.
He serves as a Senior Visiting Fellow at LSE's Department of Health Policy and collaborates with the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies.
