Mette Zølner is a Professor of Intercultural Studies at the Department of German and Romance Languages within the School of Communication and Culture at Aarhus University. Her research focuses on cross-cultural management, qualitative organizational methodologies, and the dynamics of intercultural communication in global contexts. She is known for exploring identity work among transnational professionals, expatriate career trajectories, and migrant integration through interpretive and critical research frameworks.
Zølner’s work emphasizes empirical rigor across paradigms, particularly in integrating qualitative and critical methodologies to study organizational behavior. She has contributed to the Elgar Encyclopedia of Cross-Cultural Management and organized international conferences on themes such as qualitative research in culturally hybrid settings and diversity management. Her research often bridges academic theory with practical applications in business and policy.
She has advised and participated in several Ph.D. defenses and workshops, including the 'Management and Cultures' standing track at the Euram Annual Conference.
