Clive F. W. Flynn

Clive F. W. Flynn serves as Professor for International Business and Head of the Business Administration Program – International Business at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Villingen-Schwenningen (DHBW) since 2015. His academic home is within the Faculty of Business where he teaches General Business Administration, Corporate Management, International Marketing Management, and Intercultural Management.

Dr. Flynn's research focuses on Intercultural Management, Strategic Management, and International Marketing, with particular expertise in qualitative research methods including the grounded theory approach. His scholarly work examines the experiences of voluntary expatriates working in German SMEs, exploring how they navigate cultural transitions and cognitive dissonance through identity work processes.

His publication record demonstrates consistent engagement with international business challenges, particularly examining acculturation processes and organizational dynamics. The research shows a clear thematic progression from organizational theory (2005) toward specialized expatriate studies (2016), reflecting his evolving academic focus on cross-cultural adaptation in business contexts.

His professional trajectory uniquely combines academic scholarship with substantial industry experience, having held various management positions at Nemetschek Group from 2001-2009 before transitioning fully to academia. Since 2010, he has also operated his own consulting business, holcomat eK, providing holistic consulting, management, and training services.
