Merel Feenstra-Verschure

Dr. Merel Feenstra-Verschure is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Psychology and Organizational Behavior at TIAS School for Business and Society, part of Tilburg University. She serves as Academic Director for the Nonprofit Masterclasses Diploma Program and the Starting Leadership and Management Program since 2023. Her expertise spans organizational change, sustainable career progression, and labor mobility, with a specialization in the 'locked at the job' phenomenon.

Feenstra-Verschure holds a Master's in Social Sciences and Work & Organizational Psychology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and completed her PhD at Tilburg University in 2022 on job entrapment. Her research emphasizes practical applications, aiming to reduce absenteeism, enhance productivity, and inform sustainable workforce strategies. She founded The People Society, a consultancy focusing on sustainable career pathways and managerial soft skills development.

Her publications include studies on labor mobility challenges, leadership roles in organizational change, and qualitative insights into job entrapment processes. She also hosts a podcast exploring real-life cases of employees trapped in dissatisfying roles.
