Meredith Troutman-Jordan is a Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte), affiliated with the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS). She serves as Systems Coordinator and holds the title of Honors Faculty until June 30, 2029. Her clinical expertise spans inpatient, outpatient, residential psychiatric mental health, substance abuse treatment, and home health, with a 20-year focus on older adults.
- Education: PhD in Nursing (2005, University of South Carolina), MS in Nursing (2000, UNC Charlotte), BSN (1995, Queens College), and a Nursing Diploma (1994, Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing).
Research interests include healthy aging, psychiatric mental health nursing, family theory, dementia care, and caregiver support. She actively contributes to professional organizations such as the National Collaboratory Against Elder Mistreatment, Gerontological Society of America, Southern Gerontological Society, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Her external roles include serving as Mentor for the National Collaboratory Against Elder Mistreatment and committee positions in the Southern Gerontological Society and Southern Nursing Research Society.
